The V&A began acquiring photographs in 1852, and its collection is now one of the largest and most important in the world.

The Photography Department permanent collection holds three artist-made silver gelatin prints from FARMED :

THE HYMAN COLLECTION (London, UK)

The Hyman Collection is the private collection of Claire and James Hyman and is one of the most significant collections of British Photography in the world.

Claire and James began collecting in 1996 and the collection now consists of over four thousand artworks, from historic photographs to the latest contemporary work. Their interests range from conceptual artists working in photography to documentary photographers. They are committed to diversity and to supporting women in photography. By loan agreement, the collection is administered by the Centre for British Photography (registered charity 1190955) and the collection is a vital source of material for the charity’s exhibition programme.

The Hyman Collection holds seven works :

A set of six 16 x 20 inch artist-made silver gelatin prints from The Fenland Trilogy (2009-19) ;

Middle Marsh Road (2013) and Lyn Way (2013) FARMED series

Northlands (2017) and Bishops Farm (2016) DRAINED series

Old Bedford River (2018) and Macmillan Way (2018) RECLAIMED series

MARTIN PARR FOUNDATION (Bristol, UK)

The Martin Parr Foundation print collection focuses on work made in and about the British Isles, in particular post-war British documentary photography. The Foundation also holds a number of international works by photographers such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, Sergio Larrain and Garry Winnogrand to name just a few. Works in the collection are frequently loaned to museums and galleries, and also feature in exhibitions held at the Foundation.

The Foundation holds three works :

A set of three 20 x 24 inch artist-made silver gelatin prints from the first part of The Fenland Trilogy : FARMED (2009-15) ;

Hoffleet Stow (2013)

West View Farm (2013)

Gedney Main Road (2013)

CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL ART COLLECTION (Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, UK)

Established in 1987, The CUH Art Collection is a resource for the public spaces across the Trust comprised of artworks donated, purchased or exhibited at the Hospital. The creation of new work allows artists to work in response to patient feedback and staff requests resulting in exhibitions that reflect the medical aims of the department, the physical environment of the site and the values of the Trust.

Stave from TRUNCATED (2005-08) is permanently displayed on Ward A3 in the Neurological Critical Care Unit.


IVOR BRAKA COLLECTION (London / Norfolk, UK) 

Ivor Braka is a British art dealer and collector specialising in Francis Bacon and Lucian Freud. Highlights from his unique art collection are permanently displayed at his pubs The Gunton Arms and The Suffield Arms in Norfolk, England.

The collection holds fourteen artist-made silver gelatin prints across the series TRUNCATED (2005-08) and FARMED (2009-15)

Portal (2007) from TRUNCATED is displayed in The Zebra Room at The Suffield Arms.
